and will give us better access to the backyard. Unfortunately, I don't have the end result yet, as we still have raw Sheetrock around it. But it does really add a lot of light to the room! Here are the before and during pictures:
Another thing I did recently was to add a little variation to the "Sisters' Hike", which is one of our R. S. Enrichment Activity Groups. I started it last summer, feeling a lack of daughters to go on hikes with me (although Jamie has joined me for one). We went to Donut Falls in August, and then to Lakes Mary, Martha, and Catherine in September. Then we took a long break, but I decided that we could try snowshoeing. At the end of March, and a day or two after a nice spring snowstorm, we (3 brave souls) tried out our skills at the Spruces. It wasn't too great of an exertion, although I had to break a path in places since the snow was fresh. It was just wonderful to get out in the sunshine and fresh air again. We saw a Red-Breasted Nuthatch (a first for me), and a beautiful blue Stellar's Jay, and had a great time visiting.
